Membership Tiers of the Digital Freedom Alliance

The Digital Freedom Alliance (DFA) operates as a Private Membership Association (PMA) with three distinct membership levels designed to accommodate different levels of involvement, privacy, and professional contribution.

1. Full Members

Full Members are the core of the Alliance, possessing voting rights and comprehensive access to the DFA network. This tier is designed for IT specialists and digital freedom advocates who wish to actively participate in the governance of the PMA and execute commercial projects within the network.

  • Key Benefit: Full access to all network resources, project opportunities, and the “Trailblazer” coaching benefits described below.

2. Associate Members

Associate Membership is a non-voting tier designed for those who wish to support the mission without direct involvement in daily operations or governance.

  • Organizations & Businesses: Ideal for entities that want to align their brand with digital freedom and privacy.
  • Public Supporters: For those who wish to publicly endorse the DFA but prefer to remain hands-off regarding project execution.
  • Conflict of Interest Mitigation: A suitable option for professionals who support our mission but cannot hold a voting membership due to external professional or legal obligations.

3. Ordinary Members

Ordinary Membership is a non-voting tier with access limited to specific products, services, or coaching programs.

  • Client-Focused: This is the standard entry point for clients and customers utilizing DFA services, such as the Virtual Webmaster or Digital Freedom Coaching.
  • Service Access: Provides the necessary legal framework to participate in our private offerings while maintaining a focus on the specific service being delivered.

The Digital Freedom Alliance PMA rules (the official governing document of the association) define the roles, permissions, and obligations for each membership level. They also establish the operational framework for how members collaborate, communicate, and represent the Alliance, including required reference documents such as the Code of Conduct, governance and decision-making procedures, confidentiality and privacy expectations, and supporting policies and templates that standardise how DFA projects and services are delivered.

ACCESS TO THE DFA NETWORK

General Member Benefits

  • Right to Vote: With the planned DAU a non-transferable governance token will enable you to vote and authenticate yourself on the network.
  • Email Forwarder: Receive a professional @digitalfreedomalliance.net email address that forwards to your preferred private inbox.
  • Profile Listing: A dedicated web post where you can showcase your expertise. We provide templates and guidelines to help you create a unique bio within our professional parameters.
  • Trailblazer Coaching Membership: Full members gain the “Trailblazer” designation, providing access to all DFA resources, projects, and VAPA-powered assistants on the Digital Freedom Coaching website.
  • Trailblazer Track Notes: Access to our planned DFA blog for news, project updates, and service announcements. Trailblazer members are the primary contributors to these updates.
  • Trailblazer Message Board: A public board for project collaboration, resource requests, and technical help. This is also the primary location where Virtual Webmaster Services (VWS) opportunities are posted.

Matrix Spaces We utilize the Matrix protocol for secure, decentralized communication:

  • Digital Freedom Alliance Space: A dedicated members’ area for DFA-wide discussions. Members are encouraged to create and maintain their own spaces for project management.
  • Digital Freedom Coaching Rooms: Secure spaces for beta-testing the “Escape The Big Tech Digital Prison” program, available to all coaching clients.
  • Virtual Webmaster Services Space: Dedicated support and coaching rooms for VWS clients.
  • Special Interest Groups (SIGs): Specialized rooms and spaces for focused technical or community topics.

Digital Freedom Cloud (Nextcloud) A private cloud suite hosted as a sub-domain on the DFA website. This provides members with secure file storage, backups, and collaborative office tools without Big Tech surveillance.

Get Involved in the DFA Foundation There are ground-floor opportunities to join the Advisory Council, which plays a crucial role in shaping the development of our future DAO and PMA structures.

PROJECT LISTING

List your projects in the DFA Project Directory. Each project receives a primary listing with the ability to add multiple sub-pages for detailed documentation. You can publish public updates via the Digital Freeway, our content syndication pipeline.

HANDLING SUPPORT & ONBOARDING

DFA helps you manage support and onboarding through the Digital Freedom Coaching platform. You can outsource your client support to our specialized environment, moving away from impersonal ticket numbers toward private 1-1 consulting rooms.

  • Level 1 Support: We handle general inquiries and document technical issues from non-technical clients.
  • Level 2/3 Support: Escalated technical support can be managed within our framework.
  • VAPA Expert Systems: We can build a custom Assistant for your product or service, making it available to your clients through the Coaching Members area (e.g., VCT & VVW).

DIGITAL PRIVACY STORE

We provide a fully functional WooCommerce store powered by Kadence Pro, including advanced add-ons and enhancements.

  • Listing Products: List your services in our privacy-focused shopping areas. You can also embed these listings in external posts or social media in accordance with DFA Marketing Guidelines.
  • Payment Gateways: We currently offer a Stripe integration. As tax liabilities currently fall on the DFA representative, we invite open discussion on reasonable usage charges.
  • Alternative Payments: We support direct Stripe payment links, Gravity Forms Pro with Gravity Perks for custom redirects, and anonymous cryptocurrency payments.

PROMOTION OF YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE

  • Digital Freedom Project Tube: A dedicated video category for publishing and sharing project updates.
  • The Digital Freeway: A content syndication pipeline designed to increase awareness of DFA projects and the broader Digital Freedom movement.
  • Dig Deep Search Engine: Visibility within our VAPA-powered search engine and the Digital Freedom Tube ecosystem.

PARTICIPATE IN THE REFERRAL PROGRAM

Our referral program is designed to incentivise the promotion of DFA services. While it currently focuses on the “Jogger” Coaching service, it serves as a gateway to promote your own products. You can optionally create your own affiliate programs; the referral system is in place by default to help designate client ownership.
