🧾 Executive Summary
Digital Freedom Tubes is a collection of public blogs and video channels that help people explore and learn about digital privacy, alternatives to Big Tech, and tools for taking back control online.
Each Tube focuses on a different topic — like videos, tools, trusted communities, and more. All content is easy to search and is designed to support people working through our 10 Steps to Escape Big Tech, coaching programs, or just looking for trustworthy information.
Some content is also used to train our AI assistants — summaries are created and stored so the assistants can explain, reference, or guide users based on what’s already been published.
🔍 What Are the Tubes?
Think of the Tubes as topic-based blogs or channels. Each one is focused on helping you with a different part of your escape from Big Tech and your journey to digital freedom. You can read, search, and share content — and each Tube grows over time with new material, reports, and helpful links.
The Tubes are also connected to our AI tools. Some of the posts and videos are summarized and added to our private search system so that our assistants can answer questions and point people to helpful resources.
🗂️ The Current Tubes
🔹 Big Tech Alternatives Tube
Find trusted tools and services that don’t rely on Big Tech. From email to hosting to social media — if there’s a safer option, we’ll highlight it here.
🔹 Privacy Toolbox Tube
A collection of tested privacy tools — like VPNs, password managers, and secure messengers. Each tool is reviewed and ranked using our Digital Freedom Trust Ranking system.
🔹 Freedom Videos Tube
Watch videos that teach, explain, or expose. These videos support our 10-Step program and are hand-picked for their usefulness. Most come from YouTube but are summarized and reviewed for added context.
🔹 Privacy Communities Tube
Discover communities, groups, and organizations that support privacy and freedom online. Great for finding allies, projects, and movements to follow or support.
🔹 Reference & Resources Tube
Grab cheat sheets, charts, guides, and helpful downloads. This Tube is a library for anything that doesn’t fit in the others but is still worth sharing.
🔹 Digital Freedom News & Alerts Tube
This is where we post announcements, updates, and alerts from across the DFA project. Each major project may have its own blog here too.
