Creative Command Group (~c): Enhancing Creativity and Style

The ~c command group controls the expressive and generative character of AI outputs. While other command groups define what is produced and how it is structured, ~c determines how ideas are formed, explored, and expressed—from conservative, factual responses to imaginative, exploratory thinking.

Purpose

To give users precise control over creativity, tone, and stylistic freedom, enabling outputs that align with the desired balance between accuracy and inventiveness, discipline and flair.

Key Capabilities

  • Creativity / Randomness Control: Bias outputs toward predictable accuracy or novel idea generation.
  • Style Selection: Choose narrative, analytical, technical, poetic, or conversational expression modes.
  • Tone Management: Adjust emotional and professional tone independently of formatting.
  • Idea Generation Modes: Support divergent, convergent, or hybrid ideation for brainstorming and refinement.
  • Boundary Control: Regulate how strictly the AI adheres to facts versus allowing speculative or imaginative expansion.

~c Command Structure

The following commands modify the creative.* settings group. These settings are sticky by default, persisting across the session unless reset.

CommandNameRoleExample
~ct [mode]ToneSets emotional/professional tone (neutral, formal, casual, bold).~ct formal
~cr [level]RandomnessControls creative variance (low, med, high).~cr high
~cs [style]StyleSets expression style (narrative, technical, poetic, conversational).~cs narrative
~ci [mode] [n]Idea ModeGenerates ideas using divergent or convergent modes.~ci d 5
~cb [level]BoundaryControls factual strictness vs flair (strict, balanced, loose).~cb balanced

Note: Creative controls influence expression, not truth enforcement. Security (~s) and Research (~r) always take precedence where factual integrity or policy applies.

Universal Operators

  • /s (Sticky):
~cr med /s — Keeps medium creativity across projects and context switches.
  • /r (Reset):
~c /r — Resets all creative settings to VAPA defaults.

Examples of Use

  • Strict Analytical Writing
    ~ct formal ~cr low ~cs technical ~cb strict
Result: Conservative, precise, low-flair responses suitable for reports or audits.
  • Creative Brainstorming
    ~cr high ~ci d 7 ~cs narrative
Result: Seven diverse, imaginative ideas expressed in story-driven language.
  • Balanced Thought Leadership
    ~ct bold ~cr med ~cb balanced
Result: Confident, engaging insights grounded in facts but not constrained by rigidity.
  • Refinement Pass
    ~ci c 3
Result: Three converged, refined ideas distilled from prior exploration.

Workflow Integration

  • With Research (~r)
Use ~r to control depth and verification, then layer ~c to shape how insights are framed and communicated.
  • With Format (~f)
Combine ~c for voice and tone with ~f for layout and readability:
    • ~cs narrative + ~fm on → structured storytelling
    • ~cs technical + ~fv 4 → detailed technical documentation
  • With Alter‑Ego (~a)
Creative defaults can be embedded as preferences inside Alter‑Ego or Custom slots, ensuring consistent voice across projects.
